The Best-Tasting Grocery Store Pumpkin Pie

Sam's Club

PER SERVING (1/12TH PIE): 370 cal, 15 g fat (6 g saturated fat), 420 mg sodium, 54 g carbs (1 g fiber, 34 g sugar), 7 g protein

Spicy with a bland crust. Both my tasters disliked the pie's overpowering nutmeg, which overpowered the other tastes. "The spice really killed it," a buddy said.

Costco

PER SERVING (1/12TH PIE): 320 cal, 11 g fat (3.5 g saturated fat), 380 mg sodium, 48 g carbs (1 g fiber, 31 g sugar), 6 g protein

This version had more pumpkin flavor, but one tester found "some kind of oily substance," which she found "a little off-putting."

Whole Foods

PER SERVING (1 SLICE): 320 cal, 13 g fat (7 g saturated fat), 250 mg sodium, 40 g carbs (3 g fiber, 20 g sugar), 7 g protein

"It had spicy states, but also a nice pumpkin flavor," said one tester, who named the Whole Foods pie his favorite. The crust was too crumbly for my other companion.

Wegmans

PER SERVING (1/8TH PIE): 290 cal, 13 g fat (6 g saturated fat), 190 mg sodium, 38 g carbs (2 g fiber, 26 g sugar), 2 g protein

The label says this pie had less sugar per serving than others, yet it had the richest, cinnamon-y taste in our study. The custard's ultra-light, airy texture further distinguished it.
