Giants QB Tommy DeVito’s dad couldn’t believe what he watched

New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito made his NFL debut Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys and struggled.

He had to be disturbed by more than one snap. Giants rushing back Saquon Barkley went up the middle for no gain from the Dallas 4 on fourth-and-2.

On Fox, Tom DeVito was seen in the AT&T Stadium stands with his hands in the air saying, “That's your fourth-and-3 play?” The Giants trailed Dallas 7-0 early in the second quarter when Cowboys QB Dak Prescott was intercepted.

The play call and turnover on downs sunk the Giants' hopes as Dallas scored on its next three drives to win 49-17. “He’s one of us,” a Reddit user stated of the elder DeVito's reaction.

DeVito completed 14 of 27 throws for 86 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. He ran 41 yards despite five sacks.

What he saw disappointed Giants legend Michael Strahan. At the first-half break, Fox NFL analyst Strahan stated, “It’s very hard to watch,” and urged coach Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka to “take some chances.”
