According to an email from a corporate official, QSR Web revealed late last week that McDonald's will phase out self-serve beverage kiosks in its
US dining rooms. Since the shift is expected to finish in 2032, customers will have plenty of time to adjust. Self-serve drink stations will be discontinued
However, personnel fill drinks for drive-thru and McDonald's app orders, so the absence of self-serve stations won't affect them.
McDonald's employees and customers will have a more consistent experience regardless of where and how they purchase their food, according to QSR Web.
