These soft giants were originally bred to help out on Swiss farms, but their calm nature makes them good for young families now.
The toy breed is great for city life because it is quiet, friendly, and (of course) very cute. And, of course, they don't talk much.
Frenchies are also happy to live in apartments, and they don't need much exercise besides short walks. In fact, their flat noses mean that they do best in mild conditions where they have a lot of time to relax.
The English form is the same. The bigger dogs won't talk as much because they're happy to keep sleeping on the couch.

The basenji is called the "barkless dog" because they don't make much noise, but they don't stay quiet all the time. When the dogs do decide to talk, they make strange sounds that sound like yodels.
The American Kennel Club calls them "quiet and catlike," but in more ways than one, the elegant borzois stand out.
At the shoulder, a Scottish Deerhound is almost 3 feet tall, so it probably won't fit in your lap. However, the tall hound makes up for its size with a calm and dignified attitude.
Shibas are best known for being part of the popular doge joke, but they won't be saying "much wow" any time soon. The dogs don't make a lot of noise, except for the odd "Shiba scream."
