Iowa's Caitlin Clark holds top-spot for most 30 point games, surpassing Kelsey Plum

Iowa won their home game against Drake on Sunday night, defeating them 113-90. Caitlin Clark of Iowa led the squad with 35 points, a career-high seven steals, 10 assists, and six rebounds.

With her 39th 30-point performance in her career, Clark now holds the record for the most 30-point games played by a D-I player in the previous 25 seasons. Kelsey Plum, a player with the WNBA Las Vegas Aces, is the current record holder.

Head coach Lisa Bluder of Iowa commented, "We came out playing Iowa basketball — high assists, low turnovers." "I felt that tonight we had much better enthusiasm out there.

We were more attentive. In the first half, we scored the most points in program history, which was entertaining. Although we obviously had good shooting, I was pleased with our 3-point defense.

"They were averaging over 40% in 3-point shooting, but we stopped them to a 26% average against Drake's over 12-point scoring average every game. That seemed significant to me for us.

I liked how Kate Martin played tonight like she was playing in the summer and had a unique game just for us.

In just 30 minutes of play, Caitlin broke the NCAA record for the most games with 30 points. She also recorded a double-double. We forced 22 turnovers tonight, which I really like.
