Taco Bell Takes On McDonald's With New "Premium" Chicken Nuggets

Taco Bell will offer Crispy Chicken Nuggets on October 12. The hitch is that you must reside near one of the 83 Minneapolis locations that will test them for a limited period.
A Taco Bell employee said, "This is a premium nugget," at a media event at its Irvine headquarters. It's not a fast-food chicken nugget patty. This is significantly higher."
The employee probably meant McDonald's. According to Taco Bell's food innovation team member Chef Brett Pluskalowski,
customers have been asking for more chicken-based items on the menu. He also announced that the nuggets will be made with all-white meat. Genuine chicken."
While McDonald's website says their Chicken McNuggets "are made with all white meat chicken and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives," some believe they
include "what some people call 'pink slime' or 'pink goop.'" The chain clarified that this is not a depiction of how they make Chicken McNuggets or any other menu item.
New Taco Bell nuggets feature "real" white chicken meat, jalapeño buttermilk marinade, and one of two dipping sauces.
The first is the spicy Bell Sauce with red chilies, garlic, onions, and tomatoes. Second, try the Jalapeño Honey Mustard, which has a sweet, tangy, and spicy flavor.
A 5-piece order of nuggets with one dipping sauce costs $3.99 to $4.99 (location-dependent). Those who are extremely hungry can get a 10-piece meal with two sauces for $6 to $8.99.
